Four-time champion Iga Swiatek dominated the opening set against Czech qualifier Sara Bejlek, cruising to a 6-2 win. The Polish star was in complete control until Beljek fought back at the end to take back a game.
Iga Swiatek is in complete control at the moment as she wins her fifth game of the opening set. We could be in for a quick finish if things keep going at this rate.

While the Paris heat wears down the tennis stars on court, Jannik Sinner has found a lighter escape off it, building a LEGO Eiffel Tower with his brother after gruelling matches, swapping rallies for bricks in a surprisingly calm wind-down routine.

Jannik Sinner, after his first-round win, addressed concerns about increased pressure with Carlos Alcaraz missing:
âPressure is always gonna be there. Itâs part of us as tennis players. Everyone has pressure in their work⦠If you donât feel the pressure, it means you donât care. I do care a lot about what Iâm trying to achieve on court. At the same time, I know the world is not going down if I lose. I try to do my best and put myself in the best possible position.â
At 24 Grand Slams and counting, the fire for a record-breaking 25th still burns bright in 39-year-old Novak Djokovic. After surviving a stern first-round test, the Serbian great now faces Franceâs world No. 74 Valentin Royer in the next round.
Meanwhile, third seed Iga Swiatek returns to Court Philippe-Chatrier, where she takes on Czech youngster Sara Bejlek in a blockbuster womenâs singles clash.
