Not even my handwriting: Two more CBSE students claim they got wrong answer sheets

Two more Class 12 students have alleged that CBSE shared scanned answer sheets that were not theirs. The fresh complaints have sharpened questions around evaluation and post-result access to answer scripts.

The controversy around CBSE’s post-result process is expanding, with two more Class 12 students, Harshita and Moksh, alleging that the scanned answer sheets shared by the board did not belong to them.

The row first gained attention after students Vedant and Sanjana claimed that the scanned copies received through the re-evaluation process did not match their handwriting.

Since then, complaints ranging from missing pages in scanned copies, delayed access to answer sheets, discrepancies in awarded marks, moderation concerns and alleged copy mismatches have surfaced online.

Adding to these concerns, Harshita now claims, as cited in media reports, that the Physics answer sheet shared with her belonged to another student.

According to her allegation, the copy showed 12 marks in Physics, leading to her result reflecting a failed status in the subject.

She says the marks are not hers and has sought access to her original answer sheet.

Another student, Moksh, alleged that after scoring 33 out of 80, he applied for his scanned answer sheet only to find that the handwriting did not match his own.

He also claimed the copy appeared to have been written using a black pen, despite him not using one in the examination.

The allegations remain independently unverified, and CBSE has not publicly responded to these specific claims.
However, the board earlier acknowledged that over 13,000 answer sheets out of nearly 9.8 million evaluated copies were manually reviewed following discrepancies.

CBSE also said on May 26 that more than 4 lakh applications were received for scanned Class 12 answer sheets, amounting to requests for over 11 lakh evaluated copies, indicating that nearly one in every four students who appeared for the board exams sought access to their answer books.

The board has maintained that safeguards exist within the evaluation system and recently denied allegations of breaches in its operational digital platforms.

Yet, as fresh complaints continue to emerge, scrutiny around OSM, answer sheet handling and post-result transparency appears to be growing.
