The global box office has been completely upended by the phenomenal run of Drishyam 3. As per Box Office South India X page, in just two days, the Mohanlal-led thriller has amassed a staggering Rs 75 crore worldwide, driven by an exceptional response in its home turf of Kerala and a massive turnout in overseas markets. The film is expected to cross the coveted Rs 100 crore milestone today.
 

Malayalam cinema simply focused on telling good stories, and somehow, those stories travelled farther than anyone imagined. That journey perhaps comes full circle with Mohanlal and director Jeethu Joseph's Drishyam 3.

Mohanlal's Drishyam 3 is on a rampage in Kerala. Out of 236 shows, 232 shows filling fast in Kochi.  

Drishyam 3 is completely dominating Chennai theatres! The screens are turning red faster than Georgekutty (Mohanlal's character in the film) can cover his tracks.

As per tracking website Sacnilk, on Day 2, Drishyam 3 (Malayalam) collected a nett of Rs 11.05 crore across 4,886 shows. This brings total India gross collections to Rs 31.18 crore and total India nett collections to Rs 26.90 crore so far. The film witnessed a 30.3 per cent drop from Day 2's nett collection of Rs 15.85 crore

Actor Mohanlal turned emotional during a first-day, first-show screening of Drishyam 3, with a video of the moment now going viral across social media platforms. In the widely shared clip, Mohanlal is seen wiping away tears while watching audience reactions alongside the cast and crew of Drishyam 3. The actor also thanked a fan who appreciated him during the screening, with the emotional exchange quickly becoming one of the most talked-about moments online following the film’s release.

As per the latest update shared by the makers, Mohanlal's Drishyam 3 earned Rs 50.35 crore on its opening day. In an X post, Aashirvad Cinemas wrote, "Every decision has a cost. #Drishyam3 running successfully! Thank you for the incredible love, celebrations, and overwhelming response from audiences everywhere (sic)."

Actor Prakash Raj has shared an update on the Hindi version of Drishyam 3. He shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the sets on X and wrote, "#Drishyam3 Hindi … Just wrapped up a fantastic shoot with a wonderful team… thoroughly enjoyed being a part of this film. I’m sure you ‘ll love it too…(sic)". He concluded the post by saying, "Onto the next one."

According to trade website Sacnilk, the Mohanlal starrer has recorded the second-biggest Malayalam opening worldwide. His top 5 biggest Malayalam opening day grossers worldwide include the 2025 film L2 Empuraan (Rs 67.50 crore), Drishyam 3 (Rs 43.50 crore), 2026 film Patriot (Rs 28.10 crore), 2021 film Marakkar (Rs 20.30 crore) and 2021 film Kurup (Rs 18.30 crore).

Few Indian film franchises have managed to sustain anticipation across languages and generations like Drishyam. More than a decade after the first film redefined Malayalam thrillers and introduced Georgekutty (played by Mohanlal) as one of Indian cinema's most memorable characters, Drishyam 3 arrives with enormous expectations.
