NTA

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is an autonomous organisation established by the Government of India to conduct transparent, efficient, and standardised entrance examinations for higher education institutions across the country. Formed in 2017 under the Ministry of Education, the agency was created to improve the quality and fairness of competitive exams by using technology-driven processes and scientific testing methods.

NTA conducts several major national-level examinations, including NEET for medical admissions, JEE Main for engineering aspirants, CUET for undergraduate admissions, and UGC-NET for eligibility in lectureship and research fellowships. Through these exams, millions of students compete every year for admission into prestigious universities and institutions.

One of the key objectives of NTA is to reduce the burden on educational institutions by handling the examination process professionally and independently. The agency focuses on ensuring fairness, accuracy, and accessibility while maintaining strict security measures to prevent malpractices. Online examination systems, computer-based tests, and AI-supported monitoring have become important parts of its functioning.

Despite its efforts, NTA has also faced criticism over technical glitches, paper leak allegations, and exam-related controversies in recent years. These incidents have sparked debates about examination reforms and the pressure faced by students in India’s highly competitive education system.

Overall, NTA is highly significant in deciding the future of higher education admission in India by conducting large-scale exams in a structured and centralised manner.

TTV Dinakaran Rejoins NDA As ADMK Leaders Skip Induction in Tamil Nadu

The programme notes, 'TTV Dinakaran had lost an MLA ticket. He had contested from Kovilpatti constituency, but he had lost by more than 12,000 votes.' Despite his earlier departure from the NDA, Dinakaran has re-entered the fold, with BJP leaders present to mark the occasion.
