Not everyone needs the latest iPhone. In fact, if you're looking for a premium Apple smartphone that can comfortably handle the next few years, the iPhone 16 remains one of the smartest buys right now, especially if you grab it on sale.

Right now the iPhone 16 (128GB variant) is listed at Rs 67,790, down from its original price of Rs 69,900 on Vijay Sales.

In addition the platform is also offering additional bank discounts, including a flat Rs 3,500 instant discount on HDFC Bank credit and debit card EMI transactions. HSBC card users can get up to Rs 3,000 off, while YES Bank customers can avail discounts of up to Rs 2,500 on eligible purchases.

But is the iPhone 16 worth buying? Absolutely.  While Apple has already moved on to the iPhone 17 series, the iPhone 16 is far from outdated.

The phone is powered by Apple's A18 chip with a 5-core GPU, which continues to deliver flagship-level performance for gaming, multitasking, video editing and everyday use. For most users, there's little they can't do on the iPhone 16.

The device features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, offering sharp visuals, vibrant colours and excellent brightness levels. It also runs iOS 18, giving users access to Apple's latest software features and years of future updates.

Photography remains one of the iPhone 16's biggest strengths. The smartphone packs a 48MP main camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera, delivering reliable results in both daylight and low-light conditions. On the front, there's a 12MP selfie camera for selfies and video calls.

The biggest reason the iPhone 16 still makes sense is value. It delivers the core iPhone experience, strong performance, dependable cameras, premium build quality and long software support, without the higher price tag of newer models.
