Airfares have jumped significantly on certain routes, especially in the wake of crisis-hit Go First suspending operations on May 3. The meeting with representatives of airlines is likely to be chaired by civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, as per reports.
Go First is undergoing an insolvency resolution process. Also, the Odisha train tragedy is regarded as a contributory factor to the sudden spike in airfares.
IndiGo is likely to place the biggest aircraft order soon. The airline is set to order 500 A-320 family aircraft.
