3 children among 9 killed in Delhi residential building fire
When the fire erupted, a few people jumped from the building to save themselves. However, many were trapped after the fire engulfed the only exit route of the building.

At least nine people, including three children, were charred to death and several others were injured in a fire at a four-storey building in Delhi's Palam. At least 10 people were rescued and shifted to nearby hospitals.
Around 20 fire tenders reached the spot to douse the fire, while officials from the BSES, Air Force and the NDRF played a huge role in relief and rescue efforts.
The incident was first reported at around 7 am on Wednesday, according to the fire department.
According to initial reports, a short circuit led to the massive fire in the building, which housed a clothing & cosmetic store on the basement, ground and first floor. The rest of the floors were residential, as per reports.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his condolences to those who lost their lives in the incident. "The fire incident in Palam, Delhi, is saddening. May the injured recover at the earliest," he posted on 'X'. The prime minister also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund for the next of kin of each deceased. He added that the injured would be given Rs 50,000.
