Influencer 'The Skin Doctor' arrested for posts targeting Sunjay Kapur's family
Delhi Police arrested 'The Skin Doctor' for allegedly posting objectionable content targeting late industrialist Sunjay Kapur's family.

Social media influencer 'The Skin Doctor' was arrested by the Delhi Police on Wednesday for allegedly posting objectionable content targeting the family of late industrialist Sunjay Kapur following his death, police sources said.
The accused, Dr Neelam Singh, popularly known on social media as 'The Skin Doctor', was arrested after complaints were filed on behalf of the industrialist’s family, police sources told news agency PTI.
Based on the complaint, the influencer was questioned and later taken into custody, while police initiated legal proceedings and launched an investigation into the matter, officers said.
In multiple social media posts, The Skin Doctor had raised doubts over Sunjay Kapur’s will, which was reportedly made three months before his death and left his entire wealth to his wife, Priya Sachdev. In another post, the influencer also questioned cardiac failure being cited as the cause of his death. However, the police have not disclosed the specific comments in question.
'The Skin Doctor', a dermatologist by profession, has nearly one million followers on X, over one lakh followers on Instagram, and a significant presence across other social media platforms as well.
Dr Singh said his arrest over posts related to Sunjay Kapur’s family was unwarranted, describing it as "a long day".
In a statement on X, he said he attended questioning voluntarily as he believed the case "had no merit," but was arrested at 5.30 pm and released on bail hours later.
"The duty judge clearly stated that he saw no offence in the case and failed to understand why I had even been arrested," he added.
Thanking supporters, he wrote, "At times like these, one realises the importance of ideological support," adding that many who stood by him "were neither close friends nor relatives, but those with whom I am bound by ideology".
SUNJAY KAPUR'S DEATH
Sunjay Kapur, who headed auto components major Sona Comstar and also served as president of the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association, died in June 2025 at the age of 53 after collapsing during a polo match in Windsor, England. He was also the former husband of Bollywood actor Karisma Kapoor.
Findings by a UK coroner said the death was due to natural causes linked to left ventricular hypertrophy and ischaemic heart disease.
His sudden death triggered a massive succession and inheritance dispute over his estimated Rs 30,000 crore estate and family-controlled trusts involving his mother Rani Kapur, wife Priya Sachdev Kapur, and children from his earlier marriage with Karisma Kapoor.
The ongoing legal dispute centres on ownership stakes in Sona Comstar and a contested will allegedly signed in March 2025 that reportedly left most of his personal estate to Priya Kapur. His children and mother have challenged the will’s authenticity, alleging suspicious circumstances and possible forgery.
