Minor stabbed to death at Delhi wedding after dispute over DJ, food arrangements
A 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death during a scuffle at a wedding in Delhi's Rani Bagh area, triggered by a dispute over DJ music and food arrangements.
A minor was stabbed to death and another injured after a violent scuffle broke out during a wedding ceremony in Delhi’s Rani Bagh area, police said on Saturday.
The incident took place around 11:15 pm on Friday under the Rani Bagh police station limits, where two groups of boys got into a quarrel over playing music and food arrangements.
The dispute escalated into a physical fight, during which two boys were attacked with a knife. The victim, aged around 17.5 years and a motor mechanic, sustained critical injuries and was declared brought dead at the hospital. His friend also suffered injuries after being stabbed below the waist and is currently undergoing treatment. His condition is stated to be stable.
Eyewitnesses said the victim and his friend, both residents of Naharpur area in Rohini, intervened to pacify the two groups when a minor boy attacked them with a knife.
Police said they rushed to the spot after receiving information. A crime team inspected the scene, collected evidence, and examined CCTV footage while recording statements of eyewitnesses.
The key accused and his associate have been caught, and the knife used in the crime has been recovered.
The victim's body has been sent for post-mortem. Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
