The Delhi Government said the decision was taken to support students appearing for the re-examination after the National Testing Agency (NTA) cancelled the NEET-UG exam held on May 3 amid allegations of a paper leak. The re-examination has been scheduled for June 21.

Announcing the measure, the Chief Minister said many candidates have to appear for the examination again following its cancellation and are facing additional mental, financial and time-related pressure along with their families.

“Understanding these challenges, the Delhi Government stands with the candidates. The government's effort is to ensure that candidates do not face any transportation-related inconvenience on the day of the examination,” Gupta said.

She said free travel in DTC buses would help candidates reach their examination centres on time without additional stress and enable them to take the examination with complete concentration and confidence.
