Labourer dies after falling into open manhole in Delhi's Rohini

A 32-year-old labourer, identified as Birju, died after falling into an open manhole on vacant Delhi Development Authority (DDA) land in Rohini, Delhi. This incident marks the second such fatality in the national capital within five days, following the recent death of 25-year-old Kamal Dhyani in Chanakyapuri. According to the Delhi Police, the victim was returning to his nearby slum with a friend on Monday night when he allegedly lost his balance and fell into the pit. While the police and rescue teams rushed him to a hospital, he was declared dead upon arrival. Locals have alleged gross negligence on the part of officials and claim the administration is attempting to cover up the lapse.
