Lucknow property dealer dies after being shot by bike-borne attackers

A 43-year-old property dealer died after being shot at by unidentified motorbike-borne assailants in Lucknow on Wednesday, officials said. The victim has been identified as Sandeep Singh.

According to the police, the incident took place around 1 pm. Singh was rushed to a hospital in a severely wounded state by a driver present at the scene of the shooting. He, however, succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
As part of their probe into the killing, the police are examining footage from nearby CCTV cameras and trying to identify the attackers. Efforts are also underway to ascertain the motive behind the crime.
Four dedicated police teams have been constituted to track down the culprits. Besides scanning CCTV footage, the teams are also collecting other scientific evidence, a senior police official, cited by news agency PTI, said.
According to the police, Singh was a native of the state's Jaunpur district and was residing in Lucknow, where he had opened an office.
