"Previous governments believed that air travel should be reserved solely for the wealthy. However, the BJP government has made air travel accessible to ordinary Indians," said PM Modi during the inauguration of Noida International Airport. "It has been the BJP government's consistent endeavour to ensure that while airports are large and modern, airfares remain within the reach of ordinary families," he added. 

"We need to fight this crisis together," said PM Narendra Modi on the ongoing energy crisis due to the war in West Asia. 

"Due to a superstition that visiting Noida causes CMs to lose their seats, many stopped visiting it. The previous Chief Minister was apprehensive when I scheduled a visit to Noida. He stated that he would not come to Noida and even attempted to dissuade me," he said. "I told him that I am going to seek the blessings of this land, which will grant me the opportunity to serve for a long time," he added. 

While inaugurating the new Noida International Airport in Jewar, PM Modi slammed the Samajwadi Party and Congress for failing to develop the project when they were in power. "Atal Bihari Vajpayee had granted approval for this airport in 2003, yet the airport remained unbuilt until now. For years, the Congress at the Centre—along with the previous governments here in the state—did not even allow the foundation stone for this airport to be laid. From 2004 to 2014, this airport project remained buried within government files," he said. 

PM Modi says that the increase in ethanol production has helped reduce its oil import bill as well as mitigate the impact of the energy crisis. 

Speaking after inaugurating the Noida International Airport in Jewar, PM Narendra Modi said that the new airport is a good example of economic development under a double-engine government. 

"Today, I have two reasons for immense pride and joy. The first is that you all bestowed upon me the privilege of laying the foundation stone for this airport; and now, you have once again granted me the privilege of inaugurating it," says PM Modi. 

"Today, we are embarking on a new chapter in the journey of a 'Developed UP.' The country's largest state has today emerged as one of the states with the highest number of international airports in the nation," says PM Narendra Modi while inaugurating the airport in Noida. 

"Samajwadi Party had turned Noida into an ATM for looting. Noida is a growth engine under the BJP government," says PM Modi. 

"Every country is facing an energy crisis. India is also tackling this crisis with the absolute resolve of its people. But we have worked to ensure that our farmers do not get affected by the energy supply disruption," PM Modi told the audience after inaugurating the new airport. 

"UP's youth know that this airport will give wings to their aspirations," said PM Modi. 

After inaugurating the new Noida International Airport, PM Modi told the audience, "This is your airport. This is your future."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Phase I of Noida International Airport at noon, and address a public gathering on the occasion. 

At around 11:30 am, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake a walkthrough of the Terminal Building of Noida International Airport at Jewar in UP's Gautam Buddha Nagar. 

Ahead of its inauguration on Saturday, PM Narendra Modi had shared some pictures of the Noida International Airport.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak said that PM Modi is "giving India a magnificent gift" today by opening the airport.

"This Noida International Airport will not only serve India but will also be the largest airport in Asia. I congratulate the entire state and PM Modi for this achievement. This is a major step toward fulfilling the oath of 'Viksit Bharat'. With the inauguration of this airport, not only will passengers benefit, but the nation will see a significant economic boost," he said. 

The Chairman of the Expert Committee on Aviation and Tourism, Subhash Goyal, called the Noida airport a great achievement for aviation, and called for Metro connectivity from the facility to Delhi airport. 

"This is a major achievement as slots at Delhi airport are completely full and new airlines are unable to get space. With this airport, more airlines will be able to operate and air connectivity will improve. However, I suggest there should be metro and coach connectivity between Noida International Airport and Indira Gandhi International Airport so that international passengers can easily connect with domestic flights."

The entire area has been placed under a five-layer security cover, with around 5,000 police personnel deployed.

More than 100 entry gates equipped with 200 door-frame metal detectors have been installed, along with strict baggage screening and identity verification. Separate enclosures have been arranged for women.

Security measures include anti-sabotage checks, bomb disposal squads, anti-mine teams and sniffer dogs, while anti-drone systems have been activated and the area declared a no-fly zone.

Quick Reaction Teams have been deployed at key points, and surveillance is being carried out through CCTV cameras linked to an integrated command and control centre. Intelligence agencies are maintaining real-time coordination, officials said.

Emergency services, including NDRF and SDRF teams, fire brigades, ambulances and designated evacuation routes, have been put in place.

Large crowds started gathering in Jewar ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s inauguration of Uttar Pradesh’s ambitious Noida International Airport. PM Modi is scheduled to arrive around 11 am, visit the terminal and cargo facilities, and address a public rally expected to draw around 2 lakh people. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and several Union and state leaders will also attend the event.

Once fully operational, the Noida International Airport will make Uttar Pradesh the first state in the country to have five international airports. It is also envisioned as a multi-modal transport hub, seamlessly integrating road, rail, and metro networks, thereby significantly enhancing connectivity across the National Capital Region and North India.

The Prime Minister is expected to arrive around 11 am and will first visit the terminal building and cargo area of the airport before the inauguration. 

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the Jewar airport will not only open new doors of economic progress but also infuse new momentum into the state's journey of development and prosperity.

Jewar Airport is set to significantly boost farmers’ incomes by directly linking agricultural produce from Uttar Pradesh to global markets. Perishable goods such as fruits, vegetables, dairy and flowers will be exported faster and more efficiently, reducing spoilage and ensuring better prices for farmers.

With large-scale cargo handling capacity, the airport will strengthen the “farm-to-global market” model, enabling farmers to access international demand without relying on multiple intermediaries. This could lead to a 20-30 per cent increase in income, according to experts.

Improved logistics and multi-modal connectivity will lower transportation costs and time, making it easier for farmers to move produce to markets. The development of cold storage, warehousing and supply chain infrastructure around the airport will further enhance efficiency and reduce losses.

Additionally, the airport-driven economic ecosystem will create indirect employment and new opportunities in agriculture-linked sectors. As exports rise and agri-business expands, farmers are likely to benefit from stronger market access, higher demand and a more stable income stream.

The first phase of the Noida International Airport at Jewar, which PM Modi will inaugurate today, was built at a cost of Rs 11,282 crore. The airport is part of a larger project estimated at Rs 29,560 crore and is aimed at establishing Jewar as a major aviation hub for north India.

Traffic restrictions are in place in and around Jewar from 7 am to 11 pm on Saturday.

— Vehicles from Meerut and Ghaziabad will be routed via the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, exiting at Sirsa Toll and proceeding through designated roundabouts before reaching the venue, where separate parking zones have been earmarked – P-07 (Meerut) and P-06 (Ghaziabad).

— Traffic coming from Mathura and Aligarh via the Yamuna Expressway will exit at Jewar Cut and enter through Sabauta Underpass and Kishorpur Gate, with parking allocated in zones P-05, P-09 and P-11.

— Vehicles from Hapur, Bulandshahr and nearby areas will be diverted along the Jewar-Khurja road and enter through Parohi Gate, with parking arranged in zones P-13 and P-14.

— Dignitaries will access the venue through the dedicated Yamuna Expressway interchange and park in zones P-01, P-02 and P-03, while media personnel will enter via Kishorpur Gate and park in P-08.

— Police, administrative staff and government employees on duty will also use the Kishorpur Gate, with parking designated at P-10, while official buses will be routed via Dayanantpur and parked in P-15.

— Commuters from Noida and Greater Noida using the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway will be diverted through specified roundabouts and service roads before entering via a temporary gate near Ranehra Police Post, with parking mainly at P-07.

— Vehicles from Greater Noida West and surrounding areas will be routed through Pari Chowk, while those from Dankaur and nearby regions will follow service roads and canal routes to designated entry points.

— Two-wheelers and light motor vehicles will be allowed entry through Kishorpur Gate with parking at P-04, while vehicles from Jewar town will use the same gate and park in P-12.

— Commercial vehicles on the Jewar-Tappal route will be diverted towards Tappal, while those from Khurja heading to Jewar will be stopped at Khurja itself and redirected.
