Rajasthan badminton player kidnapped, tortured to death by girlfriend's family
A 21-year-old Rajasthan man died after police found him injured outside a girl's father's house in Faridabad. The death has led to a murder case, with the family's allegations centring on three days of captivity and assault.

A suspected honour killing case has shaken Faridabad, where a 21-year-old man from Alwar allegedly died after being allegedly kidnapped. He was held captive for three days and brutally assaulted over a relationship with a minor girl.
The deceased, identified as Monu, was a resident of Saidpur village in the Bhiwadi area of Rajasthan. He had recently appeared for his Class 12 examinations and had scored around 70 per cent marks. Family members also said Monu was a talented badminton player who had represented his school at the state level and won several medals in district-level tournaments.
According to the family, Monu was in a relationship with a minor girl from Tigaon, Faridabad. The girl reportedly used to visit her maternal relatives in Saidpur, where the two met and later developed a relationship.
Monu’s uncle, Narendra, alleged that on May 17, Monu left home saying he was going to Tigaon police station to join an investigation in an earlier case. However, the family claimed that members of the girl’s family kidnapped and kept him confined for three days, during which he was repeatedly assaulted and tortured.
On May 20, the family received a call from the police informing them that Monu had been found in an injured condition outside the house of the girl’s father, Kulbhushan. He was immediately taken to a private hospital for treatment.
The family alleged that Monu had suffered severe injuries due to continuous physical assault during captivity. He later died while undergoing treatment.
Faridabad Police spokesperson Yashpal Singh said an earlier case had been registered against Monu after he allegedly eloped with the minor girl in April. The complaint was filed by Kulbhushan at Tigaon police station.
Police said the girl was later recovered, while Monu had been absconding. Officials added that Kulbhushan later informed police that Monu was at his house. When officers reached the spot, they allegedly found him in a critical condition and shifted him to hospital.
Following his death, police registered a murder case along with kidnapping and other relevant charges based on the family’s complaint. Two accused have been rounded up, and further investigation is underway.
