The government on Thursday said that over 10,000 daily new Covid-19 cases have been reported in the country after 33 days and stressed on the need for heightened vigil in view of a sharp increase in infections.
Briefing the media on the rising cases of Covid-19, Union Health Ministry Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal said that eight districts reported over 10 pc COVID-19 weekly positivity while 14 districts reported positivity between 5-10 pc.
He further said that Maharashtra, West Bengal , Tamil Nadu , Delhi, Karnataka, Gujarat are emerging as states/UTs of concern on the basis of weekly COVID-19 cases and positivity.
