WHO CAN APPEAR FOR CBSE SECOND BOARD EXAM 2026
The Central Board of Secondary Education has laid down specific eligibility rules for the Class 10 second board exam.
Eligible Candidates:
Students who appeared in at least three subjects in the first board examination
Students who have passed Class 10 and want to improve marks (up to three subjects)
Students placed in the Compartment category
Students from the 2025 Compartment batch
Students who passed through subject replacement
Sports students who had prior permission from CBSE
Students under UFM (Unfair Means) Category 1, if otherwise eligible
Conditions to Note:
Improvement is allowed only in Science, Mathematics, Social Science and Languages
Students can choose a maximum of three subjects for improvement
Not Eligible:
Students who did not appear in at least three subjects in the first exam
Students placed in the ER (Essential Repeat) category
