The National Testing Agency has opened applications for the CSIR UGC NET June 2026 session. The process will continue till June 19, with the exam scheduled for July 17 and 18.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has invited online applications for the Joint Council of Scientific and Industrial Research University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test June 2026 examination.

The application window opened on May 27, 2026, and will remain active until June 19, 2026, up to 11:50 pm on csirnet.nta.nic.in. The examination is conducted with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research under the Ministry of Science and Technology.

The examination will be held on July 17 and July 18, 2026 in Computer-Based Test mode.

It will be conducted in two shifts each day, with Shift 1 from 9 am to 12 noon and Shift 2 from 3 pm to 6 pm. Each paper will be of 180 minutes and will be available in English and Hindi.

ELIGIBILITY FOR CSIR UGC NET JUNE

  • Candidates with at least 55 per cent marks in a master’s degree can apply.

  • Final semester students are also eligible.

  • For Junior Research Fellowship, upper age limit is 30 years.

  • There is no upper age limit for Assistant Professor and PhD admission.

EXAM PURPOSE AND SUBJECTS

The exam determines eligibility for:

  • Junior Research Fellowship

  • Assistant Professor posts

  • PhD admissions

It is conducted in five subjects: Chemical Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Physical Sciences.

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE EXAM FOR CSIR UGC NET JUNE

  • Go to official website csirnet.nta.nic.in.

  • Click on new registration and read instructions.

  • Fill personal details, mobile number and password.

  • Log in and fill application form.

  • Enter academic details, subject and exam city.

  • Upload scanned documents carefully.

  • Pay application fee online.

  • Download confirmation page.

IMPORTANT DATES AND CORRECTION WINDOW

Candidates must complete fee payment by June 20, 2026 up to 11:50 pm through credit card, debit card, net banking or UPI.

A correction window for application form details will be open from June 22 to June 23, 2026. Admit card date, exam city details, answer key and result schedule will be announced later on NTA websites.

The Joint CSIR UGC NET is conducted twice a year to determine eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship, Assistant Professor and PhD admissions.
