I can win from any Muslim constituency in Assam: Himanta Biswa Sarma

In an exclusive interview, BJP leader and Assam’s Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma spoke to India Today TV on Thursday (April 1) on the ongoing situation in the state that has already witnessed 2 phases of polling - March 27 and April 1, respectively. The next and final phase of polling in the Northeastern state will take place on April 6. In the exclusive interview, the BJP leader said, “I can win from any Muslim constituency in Assam.”

However, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Friday barred Himanta Biswa Sarma from campaigning for 48 hours with immediate effect for allegedly making threatening remarks against Congress's ally Bodoland People's Front chief Hagrama Mohilary.
