Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of consistently insulting the mandate of the Indian electorate and undermining constitutional bodies like the Election Commission. Ravi Shankar Prasad alleged that the demand to revert to ballot papers is a thinly veiled attempt to regain the ability to engage in electoral malpractices. He stated, "behind this entire SIR is to give us the right and the might to capture booths, tear away ballot papers and let the infiltrators vote." Prasad also questioned why Gandhi avoids filing legal affidavits regarding his claims on voter list discrepancies, Rafale, or Pegasus, suggesting it is to evade legal consequences for making false statements. He contrasted the BJP's acceptance of electoral losses with what he termed as the opposition's baseless attacks on the electoral process after defeats.
