Sidhu writes to EC over AAP's survey for Punjab CM face, calls it 'scam to trick people'

Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu on Monday wrote to the Election Commission seeking action against the AAP over its survey to select a chief ministerial face for the upcoming state polls. He called the survey a “scam to trick people” and a violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

Sidhu also launched a scathing attack against AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal, calling him a “trickster and hypocrite”.

Addressing reporters at a press conference, Sidhu urged the poll body to register a criminal case against AAP for running a “fake campaign”.

The AAP conducted a phone line survey to select its CM candidate for the February 20 Punjab election. Based on the survey, AAP selected Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann as its CM face, which the party claimed got 93 per cent votes.

Sidhu said the AAP has claimed that it got 21,59 437 responses on the phone line for the CM face survey for Punjab. Sidhu claimed that the mobile number used for the survey was a normal number, not commercial.
