After Shilpa Shinde row, Hina Khan tells PM: Free criminals confessing their crimes
Hina Khan has escalated her ongoing feud with Shilpa Shinde with a pointed post addressed to India's top leadership. The message follows Shilpa's veiled remarks about Hina's cancer diagnosis and family tragedy in a recent Instagram video.

Actor Hina Khan has reacted again amid her ongoing public spat with Shilpa Shinde. In a post addressed to the Prime Minister, the President and the Law Minister, Hina appeared to respond to Shinde's admission that the sexual harassment allegations she had filed against producer Sanjay Kohli were false. Her post comes a day after Shinde seemingly took a veiled swipe at Khan while responding to criticism.
In her latest post, Hina wrote, "The Honourable Prime Minister of India, the Honourable President of India and the Law Minister of India, kindly release all the criminals who have confessed their crimes after committing them because they have courage. Because they are fighters. Because they stand with the truth. Also, because nobody supported them when they committed the crime (sic)."

Earlier on Thursday, Shinde, without naming Hina, made remarks that referred to Hina's breast cancer diagnosis and the death of her father while accusing people of seeking publicity through her name. She also said people had not supported her nine years ago and added, "If you have not read it, then watch Mahabharata."
In her Instagram video, Shinde said, "I do not know when people will stop gaining publicity in my name. But do not climb onto a moving train, or you will get hurt, right? To gain publicity, you have your illnesses, you have deaths in your family, so why do you need Shilpa Shinde, right? You are already widely published."

Before that, Hina had shared a detailed post reacting to Shinde's confession. She said she was "in disbelief" that women were supporting such an "absurd and lowly action" just because the person they supported had admitted it. Calling it a crime, Hina wrote that people should think about what could have happened if the victim had died by suicide out of embarrassment or if his marriage had fallen apart.
Hina also said women in the industry should realise that such an action reflects on all of them. She wrote that women already face stigma and several difficulties, and that "being a liar who uses their gender to get cheques cleared" would be added to that list if people did not speak up and reject it. She further wrote that feminism was about equality and that people must speak against "our own" if it was better for the whole community and society.
Referring to the long-running friction linked to Bigg Boss, Hina added, "And for Heaven's sake! Get over BB. It's been 9 years." She said the matter was not about "Hina vs XYZ", that she had not spoken against Shinde after Bigg Boss, and that she was "honestly not interested." She added, "This is about what's right!"

Shilpa Shinde admits falsely accusing Sanjay Kohli
The controversy goes back to Shinde's long-running dispute with the makers of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!. Nearly a decade after she exited the show in 2016, Shinde said on comedian Bharti Singh and writer Haarsh Limbachiyaa's podcast that she had filed the sexual harassment complaint because she felt she had no other option at the time.
She said the matter was later settled, and her pending payments were cleared. Her remarks have since prompted Delhi-based men's rights organisation NCMIndia Council for Men Affairs to seek action from the Mumbai Police, while several members of the entertainment industry and other public figures have reacted to the issue.
The latest exchange began after Hina, who appeared with Shinde on Bigg Boss 11, reacted to Shinde's confession about the false sexual harassment claims against Kohli. Hina had said she was 'shocked' and 'appalled' and described Shinde's actions as 'shameful'.
With Hina's latest post and Shinde's video adding to the row, the controversy has continued to draw reactions over Shinde's admission, Hina's criticism of it, and the sharp exchange that has followed between the two actors.
