He issued a strong warning on social media, urging people to stay cautious and report such incidents immediately.
The Udaan actor shared details of the scam on Instagram, including the contact information being used by the fraudster and cautioned that legal action would follow.
He wrote, “It has come to my notice that someone has been using my name and reaching out to people, especially girls and asking for money. This person has been trying to take bookings in my name. The number involved is a Zangi number 3318085685 The email id being used is [ronitroybookings@hotmail.com](mailto:ronitroybookings@hotmail.com) Everyone be careful. As for the perpetrator. “cops are coming for you (sic)."
He further clarified that he would never approach individuals on social media or elsewhere, nor would he ever request money from anyone under any circumstances. He also urged the public to immediately inform him if they encounter such impersonation attempts.
“Please note I will never approach women on social network or otherwise. Obviously I will never ask anyone for money If y’all come across anyone like that please bring it to my notice immediately (sic)," he wrote.
The actor also shared screenshots of the alleged conversations, showing how the impersonator attempted to extract money using his name. In his caption, he warned followers to remain vigilant against such fraudulent activities that misuse celebrity identities for exploitation.
He reiterated that neither he nor his representatives would ever reach out asking for money or favours and urged people to report such incidents to help prevent further misuse.
