In a selfless act, the parents of a 14-month-old brain-dead boy from Surat donated his organs to give a new life to a three-and-a-half-year old girl from Mumbai, and a 15-year-old boy from Maharashtra.
With this act Somnath Shah becomes the youngest organ donor from Western India. Somnath had suffered a fall while playing with his sister last month. He was declared brain-dead by the doctors when brought to hospital.
His parents were councelled by a local NGO to donate his organs.
