Dalit youth assaulted in Andhra Pradesh, accused linked to YSRCP

A horrifying incident of caste violence has emerged from Tirupati, Andhra, where a Dalit youth, Pawan Kumar, was abducted and brutally assaulted. The victim was allegedly locked in a room, beaten, and the torture was video-graphed. Initial reports indicate the accused, Anil Reddy, is a personal driver of former YSRCP MLA Bommana Karunakar Reddy. It is believed the accused were present at the office of Bommana Karunakar Reddy at the time of the incident, with his son also allegedly present. Pawan's father, Neelam Jay Raju, stated this is an act of intimidation. Tirupati police have arrested one accused, and searches are ongoing to apprehend others involved in the attack.
