The upcoming Kanwar Yatra from July 11 to 23 has prompted significant preparations in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra announced the closure of meat shops along the Yatra route during this period. In Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted an aerial survey from Ghaziabad to Bijnor, directing strict action against any attempts to defy the Yatra. He emphasised the need for cleanliness, electricity, lighting, and essential services. Food safety officials are conducting inspections and testing samples. The closure of meat shops has raised concerns about the livelihoods of shop owners. The Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) is using mobile vans to test food samples and ensure quality for the Yatra participants.
