Actor Jacqueline Fernandez has moved the Supreme Court, challenging the Delhi High Court's decision to not quash the FIR against her in a Rs 200 crore money laundering case. The case, being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), also involves Sukesh Chandrasekhar. Fernandez's plea to the high court was dismissed, with the court noting that a trial court had found a prima facie case against her. Her petition in the Supreme Court is scheduled to be heard on Monday, 22nd September. She has consistently argued that "the trial will take a very long time [and] that she should be discharged from this case," maintaining that she was not aware of the source of gifts received from Chandrasekhar. The ED has contended that Fernandez was aware of his illegal activities. Her previous attempts to get the case discharged were also declined by the trial court.
