Rajasthan horror: Friend rapes, kills 10-year-old boy; sodomises body
Police said the accused used to play with the victim. He lured the child to a nearby forest to smoke cigarettes with him and committed the alleged crime there.

In a spine-chilling incident that has sent shockwaves through Rajasthan’s Kota, a 16-year-old boy allegedly sexually assaulted his 10-year-old friend and murdered him by smashing his head with a stone in a nearby forest. The teenaged boy did not relent even after killing the victim as he then subjected his corpse to ghastly brutality and savagery. Police have arrested the accused, and he has been remanded to a juvenile observation home.
Police have also obtained CCTV footage in which the accused is seen accompanying the victim on the afternoon of May 25, the day the alleged crime took place.
The chilling incident came to light in Kota's Sogariya area and has triggered widespread outrage in the area.
According to police, the victim had left home around 1 pm on May 25 to play but when he did not return by evening, his family started worrying about his whereabouts. They searched nearby areas and contacted relatives before finally lodging a missing person complaint the next day.
Following the complaint, police immediately formed multiple teams and launched a search operation using technical surveillance, local intelligence inputs, and questioning of children and acquaintances in the area.
Nearly 30 hours later, the boy's body was recovered from a forested patch opposite a workshop. Officers at the scene reportedly found the condition of the body deeply disturbing, with evidence suggesting wild animals had partially mauled the remains. The victim's head and torso were separately found at a distance from each other.
Suspicion eventually pointed to a 16-year-old acquaintance of the victim. The police questioned the boy during which he reportedly confessed to the crime.
Investigators said the accused, an eighth-grade student, had been consuming pornographic content and popular crime shows on mobile phones and believed that, being a minor, he would avoid severe punishment.
According to the police probe, the accused had taken his mother's mobile phone on the day of the incident.
He and the victim allegedly travelled in an auto-rickshaw where they watched obscene videos together. The accused then lured the child into nearby woods on the pretext of smoking cigarettes.
Police said the teenager sexually assaulted the boy and later attempted to assault him again.
When the child resisted, an altercation broke out between them. Investigators claim the victim pressed a lit cigarette against the accused's cheek during the scuffle, enraging him.
The accused then allegedly picked up a heavy stone lying nearby and repeatedly struck the victim on the head, killing him on the spot.
The brutality allegedly continued even after the murder. Police said the accused tied the child's legs with a belt, dragged the body into nearby bushes, and committed further sexual acts on the corpse.
He also allegedly attempted to burn the victim's face using dry leaves and polythene sheets in an effort to destroy evidence and prevent identification.
After noticing blood stains on his clothes, the accused even jumped into a nearby drain and reached home to show that the outfit needed an immediate washup. He told his family that he accidentally slipped into the drain.
DSP Poonam Chauhan said: "On May 25, the accused and the deceased sat inside an auto-rickshaw and watched pornographic videos together. Subsequently, the accused took the boy into the woods in front of the workshop and sexually assaulted him."
She further said, "This is a highly heinous crime. It is impossible to conceive of a crime more grave, cruel, or inhumane than this."
Police later recovered cigarette butts, bloodstained clothes and hair strands from the crime scene, while forensic teams collected additional evidence.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act, the SC-ST Atrocities Act along with charges of murder. Further investigation is underway, they said.
