Sharing details of the visit, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the trip would mark a new phase in bilateral relations between the two countries.

“Scripting a new chapter in the India-Italy Strategic Partnership. Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives in Rome on an official visit to Italy,” Jaiswal posted on X.

He added that India and Italy share a longstanding and multifaceted partnership and said the visit is expected to give fresh momentum to bilateral cooperation.

Modi had earlier visited Italy in June 2024 to attend the G7 Summit.
