Sack Dharmendra Pradhan now: Rahul Gandhi slams PM Modi over NEET paper leak
Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi intensified his attack on the Modi government over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak, demanding the immediate dismissal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Saturday intensified his attack on the Modi government over the NEET-UG paper leak case and demanded the immediate removal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi said that 22 lakh NEET students had been betrayed and accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of remaining silent on the issue. He asked the Prime Minister to either remove Dharmendra Pradhan immediately or take responsibility himself.
“Modi ji, sack Dharmendra Pradhan ji now,” Rahul Gandhi wrote.
The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate) – meant for aspirants seeking admissions in medical colleges – held on May 3 was cancelled following irregularities in the examination process, triggering huge protests from several quarters across the country. The government has announced a re-test on June 21.
Speaking on the alleged paper leak, Rahul Gandhi said 22 lakh students had worked day and night for two years to prepare for the NEET examination, but their hard work had gone to waste.
“The whole country knows that two days before the exam, NEET's paper was distributed on WhatsApp,” he alleged.
Rahul Gandhi also accused Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan of refusing to take responsibility for the controversy.
“Dharmendra Pradhan ji, India's Education Minister, says I have nothing to do with this. A committee had made a recommendation, but they threw it in the dustbin. They said opposition people are sitting in the committee, it doesn't mean anything, there is no need,” he said.
The Congress leader further alleged that a nexus involving the RSS, BJP, and university officials had damaged the country’s education system.
“Truth be told, you have damaged Hindustan's core. This is a nexus — RSS, BJP, and their colleagues at our universities: Vice Chancellors and Professors. There exists this nexus of making money between them, and they have destroyed Hindustan's education system,” Rahul Gandhi said.
He also claimed that appointments of Vice Chancellors were based on ideological affiliation rather than merit.
“The whole country knows that if you want to become Vice Chancellor, you don't need subject knowledge or experience. If you are from RSS, then you can become a Vice Chancellor. But if your ideology is not of the RSS, you cannot become Vice Chancellor,” he alleged.
Linking the issue to repeated examination paper leaks, Rahul Gandhi claimed that paper leaks had happened 80 times in the country and had ruined the future of two crore youths.
“This is why in this nation, paper has leaked 80 times and the future of two crore youths has been ruined,” he said.
Rahul Gandhi demanded strict action against those responsible for the alleged paper leak and reiterated his demand for Dharmendra Pradhan’s dismissal.
“Modi ji should immediately order that Dharmendra Pradhan ji be dismissed. He should be sacked. And those who are guilty should be arrested and sent to jail. Modi ji, sack Dharmendra Pradhan ji now,” he said.
