Hours before she was found hanging at her marital home in Bhopal, model-turned-actor Twisha Sharma spent nearly three hours at a beauty parlour near her residence, where she appeared calm and spoke about wanting to 'relax', the salon owner told India Today TV.

An India Today TV team visited the parlour Twisha had gone to on May 12 and recreated her final known movements before her death. Parlour owner Kiran recalled that Twisha Sharma arrived around 3 pm and left shortly after 6 pm after availing multiple grooming services.

"She appeared normal that day and told us 'I want to relax'," Kiran said, adding that Twisha underwent a head oil massage, pedicure and skin-related treatments during her visit.

According to Kiran, Twisha interacted normally with the salon staff and even discussed films while a movie was playing at the parlour. "She was talking to the staff about movies and asking which films they liked. Nothing about her behaviour suggested she would take such a step," Kiran said.

The salon owner described Twisha as warm and soft-spoken, saying she visited the parlour roughly once every month as it was located close to her home.

The salon owner also revealed that she first learnt about Twisha's death from her mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, who allegedly called her on May 13 to ask about Twisha's visit to the parlour. "She asked me what time Twisha came, what services she took and how long she stayed," Kiran said.

She further claimed that a day after Twisha's death, five men, whom she believed were lawyers because they were dressed in white shirts and black coats, visited the parlour, questioned her and asked for the CCTV footage.

Twisha Sharma, a Noida native, was found hanging at her in-laws' residence in Bhopal's Katara Hills area on May 12. Her death has triggered a high-profile investigation marked by allegations of dowry harassment, counterclaims of drug addiction and legal battles involving her husband and in-laws.

While Twisha Sharma's family has accused her husband Samarth Singh and his family of mentally harassing her for dowry and driving her to suicide, her in-laws have claimed she struggled with drug addiction.

Following her death, Bhopal police registered an FIR against husband Samarth Singh and mother-in-law Giribala Singh under sections related to dowry death, cruelty by husband or relatives, and common intention under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with provisions of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

Samarth Singh, the son of retired judge and former Bhopal Consumer Court chairperson Giribala Singh, was brought to Bhopal in the early hours of Saturday after surrendering before a court in Jabalpur. Police are expected to seek his custodial remand for further questioning.

The case saw major developments on Friday after the Madhya Pradesh High Court ordered a second autopsy to be conducted by a specialised AIIMS Delhi team. The court proceedings also saw Samarth withdraw his anticipatory bail plea, while authorities initiated steps to cancel Giribala Singh's anticipatory bail citing alleged non-cooperation in the investigation.

Twisha Sharma's family has meanwhile demanded an independent probe into a series of phone calls allegedly made by Giribala Singh to influential individuals in the judiciary and CCTV technicians immediately after their daughter's death.

Madhya Pradesh government has already recommended a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the case.
