Hindu teen killed in Ghaziabad, family names 5 Muslims in murder complaint

A 17-year-old boy died after being allegedly stabbed multiple times in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district, triggering tension in the Khoda area and prompting a heavy police deployment. The victim succumbed to his injuries during treatment at a private hospital in Noida, police said.

According to the complaint filed by the victim’s family, the incident took place around 3.30 pm on May 28 near Chaudhary School in Navneet Vihar, Khoda. The family has named 5 teenagers as accused, alleging that they attacked that the victim was stabbed with knives following an altercation.

Police said he was rushed to Fortis Hospital in Noida’s Sector 62 after sustaining serious injuries. However, he died during treatment.

Family members alleged that the accused and the victim knew each other and had been involved in a dispute a few months ago. They claimed the victim was allegedly called to the spot before being attacked. Based on the complaint, police have registered a case and launched an investigation.

The incident has led to anger among local residents and members of some Hindu organisations, who gathered in the area demanding strict action against those responsible. As a precautionary measure, additional police personnel have been deployed in the locality to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incident.

According to some eyewitnesses accompanying the victim, a group of youths allegedly called the victim over and made a remark to him moments before the attack. Police, however, have not officially confirmed these claims and said all aspects of the case are being verified as part of the investigation.

Abhishek Srivastava, Assistant Commissioner of Police of Indirapuram, said that a case has been registered on the basis of the family’s complaint and several suspects are being questioned. He said the investigation is being conducted on priority given the seriousness of the incident.

Police officials have urged people not to spread rumours or unverified information on social media and said strict action would be taken against anyone found responsible for the crime. Authorities added that surveillance has been intensified in the area while efforts are underway to apprehend all those involved in the case.
