A tragic medical incident has come to light in Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur, where a botched cataract surgery at an eye camp has left at least nine patients without their eyesight. The incident occurred at the New Rajesh High Tech Hospital in Sikriganj, where 30 patients underwent surgery on February 1. Following the procedure, 18 patients developed severe infections, reporting symptoms such as bleeding, pus formation, and intense pain. The severity of the infections forced doctors to surgically remove the affected eyes of nine victims to prevent further complications. In response to the allegations of medical negligence, authorities have sealed the hospital's eye department and ordered a magisterial inquiry.
