The Rajasthan Police has filed a chargesheet against Pehlu Khan, two years after he was lynched by a mob of cow vigilantes in Alwar.
The chargesheet accused Pehlu Khan of cow smuggling under the sections 5, 7 and 9 of the Rajasthan Bovine Animal (Prohibition of Slaughter and Regulation of Temporary Migration or Export) Act, 1995 and Rules, 1995.
Pehlu Khan was brutally beaten up by a mob in Alwar district in March 2017 for transporting cattle. He succumbed to his injuries two days later. Six men were named in the FIR. The lynching was caught on camera.
