Amit Shah's show of strength in Birbhum: Can BJP make inroads into Bengal?

Ahead of the assembly polls in West Bengal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah was on a two-day visit to the state. Kicking off his day by visiting Visva Bharati University in Birbhum's Shantiniketan today, Home Minister Amit Shah paid a floral tribute to Rabindranath Tagore.

He then held a massive roadshow in Bolpur and hit out at CM Mamata Banerjee on her turf.

Addressing the crowd, Amit Shah said, "I have seen many road shows, done many but I want to say that I have not seen one like this in my years. This is your love for Modi. This is your anger against Didi [Mamata Banerjee]."
