Assam floods: Over 5 lakh people displaced, 3 dead

Over five lakh people have been hit by the floods across nine districts of Assam, even though water levels started to recede on Sunday. So far, three people have lost their lives in this year's first wave of flooding in different parts of the state, the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) said.

Three embankments have been breached in Darrang district in the last 24 hours, while seven have been affected in Nalbari.
