Assam govt to bring law to protect the land rights of locals

The Assam govt will bring a law to ensure the land rights of ethnic and indigenous people are protected, according to sources. There is also going to be a mechanism to protect the local language and dialects.

This has been done to address the concerns of the people of Assam when it comes to linguistic identity and culture.
