A controversy has erupted over the purchase of land by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra in Ayodhya which was sold to two property dealers for Rs 2 crore minutes before the same land was bought by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust for Rs 18.5 crore. Samajwadi Party leader and former UP Minister Pawan Pandey and Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh levelled an allegation seeking a CBI probe into this matter. SP leader Pawan Pandey claimed that both the purchase and sale agreements list Ayodhya Mayor Rishikesh Upadhyay and Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trustee Anil Mishra as witnesses.
