Bangladesh Army holds emergency meeting amid possible military takeover soon

Bangladesh could be on the brink of a military takeover, with the army possibly ousting interim government chief Muhammad Yunus and assuming power, sources told India Today. An emergency meeting led by Army Chief Waker-Uz-Zaman on Monday has raised speculation about significant developments in the coming days.

The high-level meeting was attended by senior army officials, including five Lieutenant Generals, eight Major Generals (GOCs), commanders of Independent Brigades, and key personnel from the army headquarters.
