Bharat Bandh: Train and banking sector hit as trade unions hold nationwide strike

Train services and banking sector were hit as trade unions across India organised a nationwide strike on Wednesday against alleged anti-working class policies of the Modi-led government.

Ten central trade unions will went a general strike or 'Bharat Bandh' on January 8 "to protest against the anti-labour policies" of the government. Several farmers and agricultural workers' unions also extended support to the strike and observed January 8 as 'Gramin Bharat Bandh'.
