BJP ally RLP quits NDA over farm laws

BJP ally Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) on Saturday announced it is quitting the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) over India's new farm laws which have been fanning controversy and is the reason behind the ongoing farmers' agitation. Earlier, Hanuman Beniwal, the chief of RLP, had written to Union home minister Amit Shah saying his party may have to "rethink" on continuing its alliance with the BJP if the government refuses to repeal the farm laws.
