Police thwarted a massive bank robbery bid in Brazil's Sao Paulo.

This after the cops discovered a 500-metre-long tunnel connecting a house to a branch of Brazil's government.

Sixteen people of a gang have been arrested in this connection, who claimed that they were aiming to steal the equivalent of 317 million US dollars from the bank.

Investigators say this could have been the biggest heist in the history of the country.
