In an exclusive interview with India Today, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva outlined his agenda for the Brazil-India relationship, multipolar global order, emphasising the role of the Global South and the Brics alliance. He advocated for trade in national currencies to reduce vulnerabilities. Ahead of a proposed meeting with US President Donald Trump, Lula expressed a desire for a civilised, 'win-win' relationship while asserting Brazil's sovereignty over its critical minerals and rare earth resources. A key focus was the growing India-Brazil partnership, with Lula confirming plans for an Embraer manufacturing plant in India and a goal to double bilateral trade. President Lula also addressed the India AI Impact Summit, calling for international regulation of artificial intelligence. Furthermore, he reaffirmed his commitment to achieving zero deforestation in the Amazon by 2030 and advocated for UN Security Council reforms to include countries like India and Brazil for more representative global leadership.
