Watch: Cabinet's standing ovation for PM Modi as he surpasses Nehru's milestone

The Union Cabinet passed a resolution and gave a standing ovation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for becoming the longest-serving elected head of the government over three consecutive terms. The Prime Minister completed 4,399 consecutive days in office, surpassing the previous record of 4,398 uninterrupted days held by the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru, since the first general elections in 1952.

Following the milestone, the Prime Minister reflected on the values of public service, humility, and duty, stating that public trust is earned through selfless dedication. Congratulatory messages arrived from global leaders, including the Italian Prime Minister Giordia Meloni, highlighting international relationships.

The government also listed key achievements over the past twelve years, including the construction of the new parliament, implementation of new laws, the new education policy, and the eradication of Naxalism. A conclave involving twenty-two chief ministers, deputy chief ministers, and top alliance leaders is scheduled to take place at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital.
