Citizenship Bill row: Assam's AGP snaps ties with BJP

With months left for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP's troubles in keeping its flock together continues unabated now with the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), an Assam-based party, walking out of the alliance with BJP on Monday.

The party decided to snap ties with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the Citizenship Bill, which they say will make the Assam Accord "meaningless".

AGP on Monday announced its decision to break up with the BJP after the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) submitted the Bill before the Parliament.
