Intermittent to heavy rains in the last couple of days have exposed the shoddy road construction across the country, with reports pouring in about how motorists have been facing the nightmare of maneuvering these potholes.
The ongoing monsoons have made the matters worse for commuters. A data compiled by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways claim that, potholes are responsible for over 30 traffic related deaths everyday. In 2015, 10,876 people died in road accidents due to potholes.
However, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) claims that Mumbai is a pothole-free city. Shiv Sena President, Uddhav Thackrey went ahead and blamed the incessant rains for the deteriorating condition of the roads.
