India reports over 2.64 fresh Covid-19 cases, 6.7% higher than yesterday

India on Friday reported 2,64,202 new Covid-19 cases, a rise of 6.7 per cent since yesterday. The active cases in the country stand at 12,72,073 while the daily positivity rate rose to 14.78%. The weekly positivity rate is at 11.83%. As many as 1,09,345 were cured in the last 24 hours, as per data shared by the Union Health Ministry. The total tally of Omicron infections climbed to 5,753, up by 4.83% since yesterday.
