Covid-19 lockdown aftermath: Salary cuts, layoffs across various sectors in India

As India continues its fight against the coronavirus pandemic, many people have been facing job losses and salary cuts. Despite repeated assurances by various sectors and a request by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself, job loss and salary cuts are whacking Indians. The Centre, in the last week of March, had asked all the public and private firms to ensure that they do not cut salaries of their employess or resort to layoffs amid the nation-wide lockdown.
