Cyclone Montha Fury: 120 Trains Cancelled, Andhra Pradesh Battered By Storm

According to the report, 'the landfall has taken place as a severe cyclonic storm yesterday in the night between Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam to the south of Kakinada.' The storm, which packed winds up to 110 km/h, caused widespread devastation, uprooting trees and disrupting power. While the cyclone has begun to weaken into a deep depression, its effects are still being felt across multiple states, including Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. In response, 29 NDRF teams have been deployed for relief operations. The storm has severely impacted travel, leading to the cancellation of more than 50 flights and 120 trains across the region.
