Security has been heightened in Delhi ahead of the scheduled farmers protest outside the Parliament during the monsoon session.
Earlier, the Delhi Police refused to give the farmers permission to protest at Jantar Mantar or near the Parliament building in the national capital during the Parliament's monsoon session which began on July 19 and will end on August 13.
Delhi Police met a delegation of farmers protesting against the Centre's three controversial farm laws on Sunday. The nine-member coordination committee of the farmers’ umbrella body Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) informed the Delhi Police of their plans with regard to their upcoming protest at the Parliament. However, the representatives of the Delhi Police have asked the farmers to rethink their plan.
