Heavy rain hit Delhi on Friday, causing a roof collapse at Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal 1, killing one person and injuring eight others.

The southwest monsoon has arrived in Delhi, according to the India Meteorological Department.

The collapse occurred early in the morning, leading to a shutdown of Terminal 1 until 2 pm and an evacuation of the area.

Waterlogging and traffic congestion were reported across Delhi, Gurgaon, and Noida.

Intense rainfall also troubled Samajwadi Party MP Ram Gopal Yadav, as his Lodhi Estate road was inundated, and a video by ANI showed his staff carrying him to his vehicle.
